We just finished a two part assignment using coils. We had to make a coil pot that was at least 9" tall and a coil sculpture (with visible coils). This was pretty fun to make. At various points I had pieces of foam stuck in between coils trying to get them to dry in place and not have gravity pull many of them down. This piece is several inches tall.
